What I mean is that, whether I think the design is amazing or absurd, I love the idea of concepts, I love being able to critique them, to see where any individual automaker is at in hopes of what it wants to try to get consumers to drive.

And I love to see the things automakers come up with, like the Istituto Europeo di Design, out of Turin, which is responsible for this, the IED Eye concept.

This is sleek, modern, the product of students who are part of one of the best transportation design programs in Italy (they created it) and Jorge Andres Pinilla Fonseca (who initially came up with the idea).

A couple of months ago – this was a car that was revealed at the Frankfurt show. While most people agree that the Citroen Revolte Concept is not exactly the best looking thing around the expo, I have to disagree. I actually think that this car is pretty interesting and recently, this particular concept car actually just got approved for production.

It will carry the DS2 badge for right now and while most people hate this car … it is certainly different looking in my mind. The color however is something that could be left off, but I am sure – hopefully – that another color will be introduced. As of right now, the estimation is going to be 2011 but you could be seeing this car on the streets sooner.

The states though? We will never see the Citroen Revolte Concept on the streets, for it is just a European car.

Yum, yum, yum. You are looking at the sumptuous, sleek Rolls-Royce 200EX, which premiered as a concept at the motor show in Geneva, which took place back in March. It was designed using the codename RR4, and car lovers got their first look at it threw sketches which made the rounds in May of 2008. Needless to say, it has come quite a long way since then.

The 200EX is not as large as the famed Phantom, but it is bigger than the cars in the 7 Series.

Reviewers consider the car’s exterior to be approachable, inviting, and alluring, and one would be hard pressed to disagree with those compliments. The horizontal lines are exquisitely sculpted and all in all, the profile is sleep, sweeping, and completely dynamic.

The only iffy thing about this sleek ride is its hefty price — it costs around forty seven thousand dollars, give or take some extra for extras, so the average Joe probably is not going to want to pay the price unless he or she can seriously afford it.

Still, it is a fast ride as well, not to mention sleek, chic, and utterly gorgeous. It features a 3.7 liter engine — DOHC V6, thank you very much, which the reviewers herald as marvelous, especially with the way it is tuned.

It also features a seven speed automatic transmission, complete with sports mode, plus manual shift mode, not mention suspension in the front and the rear, dual flow shock absorbers, and who knows how many other goodies that make it run like the wind!

The Lincoln C concept car was unveiled at the Detroit auto show this week, a car that the company dubs as a “big idea for a small luxury car.” According to Ford, the goal was to come out with a small, fuel-efficient car that is ideal for going around congested urban areas and will fit in small parking spaces without compromising the comfort of the driver and passengers. The Lincoln C is targeted towards younger buyers and drivers.

Peter Horbury, executive director of Design, The Americas, believe that the Lincoln C will cater to urban-dwelling modern luxury buyers who want to help the environment by using a small vehicle while still enjoying life’s luxuries. Horbury calls what the Lincoln C offers “sensible indulgence.” According to Horbury, the Lincoln C concept car’s lightweight construction, size, and use of sustainable materials will make the car stand out.

The Lincoln C is powered by a turbocharged, direct injection 1.6-liter Ecoboost four, which produces 180 hp and 180 lb-ft torque. The engine fits into a six-speed twin clutch transmission. The C has a stop-start feature, and can go to 43 mph on the highway. The Lincoln C is about as wide as the MKZ and as long as the Ford Focus. The C doesn’t have a center post or B-pillar and has center-opening doors, which allow passengers easy access to first and second row seats. The six-seater has an all-white interior with leather trimmings, and an instrument panel that dons a mix of analog and digital instruments.

With in-car internet access, instrument panel with voice-activated cell phone, text messaging, digital media player, and an EVA avatar which responds to conversational speech, the Lincoln C will be a popular choice among younger buyers and drivers.
