The Fantastic 2010 Kia Forte

kiaJust lately, Kias are becoming increasingly popular, in part because they are so affordable. Thus far, the 2010 Kia Forte, which is set to replace the compact Spectra sedan, looks like it will continue that tradition of popularity. After all, we are talking about Kia’s biggest seller here.

How affordable is it? Its base price is a mere fourteen thousand dollars — $14,390. What does that include? A jack for an iPod, Bluetooth, and a subscription to Sirius satellite radio good for three months. Plus, of course, the base vehicle comes complete with a ten year, one hundred thousand mile powertrain warranty.

By all accounts, the stance of the Forte is more aggressive and wider; it is considered to be sculpted and crisp. The inside offers plenty of room in both the front seats and the back seats, which is a great thing when it comes to a Kia model.

The 2009 Rolls-Royce Phantom Is A Hit

phpThumb_generated_thumbnailjpgWhen you want luxury, you go to the Ritz Carlton because you know that you are going to be treated like a king or a queen.  When you want luxury in the form of a car, who do you turn to?  Well, if you were me, you would turn to the Rolls-Royce because this car is absolutely the most luxurious car of its class … hell, it has its own class!  These cars are built under the ownership of BMW and you know that it is going to be a fantastic and well-made car whenever you purchase a Rolls-Royce.

Despite how classic this car looks the technology that has been packed into this car from top to bottom, inside and out is remarkable.  This particular sedan was built with an aluminum space frame which makes just the frame around about 500 pounds lighter than most of its competitors.  While the car itself is still heavy, the engine is remarkable and will not be beat out by anyone.

A Rolls-Royce is the best car on the market and the Rolls-Royce Phantom is absolutely incredible … check it out if you get a chance!

Mitsubishi Rolls Out an Electric Car

480-mievDo you have an extra $45,660 lying around the house? Oh, sure, we all do, that is just chump change for the most of us and — okay, okay, that joke is already worn out.

The real point is, that is the cost of the new Mitsubishi i-MiEV, an innovative electric pod car which will be available in Japan at the end of July. The announcement started something of an electric car war, with Subaru announcing that the Stella, its very own electric car, would be going on sale soon as well. However, in contrast to the i-MiEV, the Stella will cost nearly fifty thousand dollars — $49,255.

Both companies tend to make the Japanese domestic market their target market. There, buyers who are able to qualify may receive government subsidies which equal out to over fourteen thousand dollars.

Sneaking a Peek at the 2011 Chevrolet Viva

2011-chevrolet-aveo-1The problem: a car from a well known manufacturer that was originally as boring as watching paint dry while the grass grows and as staid as an old time spinster who spends Sundays crocheting appliance cozies so the toaster won’t be naked any longer.

The solution: a “jazzy,” geometric black and white paint job, presumably to make the kiddies more excited and to make the adults think they are really edgy and cool because their fuel efficient automobile looks edgy and cool.

The question: can a new paint job really spruce up an old dud?

One person’s opinion: it would appear so. This is the 2011 Chevrolet Viva — maybe. It’s actually the Aveo but they might be changing the name to Viva, they just aren’t sure yet.

Still, having recognized that the Aveo left something to be desired in the way of styling, Chevrolet is trying to do some damage control. Both inside and outside, the 2011 edition promises to actually be edgy and will be larger than its forebear. The real question on most consumers’ minds is whether or not the fuel efficiency will remain … and whether or not they want to be seen with that paint job.

Volvo S80

Volvo S80

Doesn’t this brand new Volvo S80 look absolutely magnificent? I know I’m not supposed to like Volvo’s as they are the high point of Scandinavian boredom, but the S80 just doesn’t look like it’s boring. It’s well-designed, it’s sporty and it’s still absolutely high class quality-wise. Volvo is doing a great job with their new designs, and I’m… a fan.

Good news – excellent new 5-Cylinder Diesel engine in this one — awesomeness!

Lincoln C concept car unveiled at Detroit auto show

The Lincoln C concept car was unveiled at the Detroit auto show this week, a car that the company dubs as a “big idea for a small luxury car.” According to Ford, the goal was to come out with a small, fuel-efficient car that is ideal for going around congested urban areas and will fit in small parking spaces without compromising the comfort of the driver and passengers. The Lincoln C is targeted towards younger buyers and drivers.

Peter Horbury, executive director of Design, The Americas, believe that the Lincoln C will cater to urban-dwelling modern luxury buyers who want to help the environment by using a small vehicle while still enjoying life’s luxuries. Horbury calls what the Lincoln C offers “sensible indulgence.” According to Horbury, the Lincoln C concept car’s lightweight construction, size, and use of sustainable materials will make the car stand out.
